What's Happening
Get outside, explore, and build connections with T8N Celebrates presented by TELUS!
Over the past couple of years, St. Albert has developed or refurbished some amazing parks and recreation amenities, and it’s finally time to come together and celebrate in our community!
Join us on September 3 for Alberta Day and enjoy a variety of fun outdoor activities including live music, arts and entertainment, treats, games and a movie in the park!
9 a.m. - noon
Element Stormwater Management Facility:
Wake up with coffee and live music with Kaylin Kowalyshyn.
Kingsmeade Park:
Outdoor activities including inflatable axe throwing, laser tag, live entertainment with Acme Circus, Mariachi Borealis and drumming fun with Sangea Academy.
Larose Park:
See what all the excitement is about and learn how to play Pickleball at our Try It event.
Fowler Athletic Park:
Get your feet moving and heart pumping while trying out some new track and field sports with an Athletic Try It event.
11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Langholm Park
Learn disc golf basics (rules, throwing, going out with groups, etc.) with the Edmonton Disc Golf Association (EDGA).
2 - 5 p.m.
LaChance Park:
Be wowed by the magic of Jay Flair, enjoy the music of the Fireside Duo, hang out with the Roaming Rec Crew and get a free bike tune-up from YounieCycles.
Larose Park:
Take a swing and learn a new sport at our Tennis Try it event.
Legacy Stormwater Management Facility:
Take in the beautiful view and experience cello player Caitlin Laslop & Friend or join the fun with Trail Tales presented by the St. Albert Public Library.
Versailles Park:
Join the action at this fire-themed playground with splash pad, and enjoy other activities including inflatables, live entertainment including DJ Funkasaurus and Amanda Penner, and members of the Roaming Rec Crew.
5 p.m. & 7 p.m.
Kingsmeade Park:
Paint in the Park event! Unleash your inner Picasso and create your own masterpiece with Red Pepper Painting Parties. Pre-registration is required as space is limited – register for the 5 p.m. painting or 7 p.m. painting
7:30 - 10:30 p.m.
Millenium Park:
Outdoor Movie Showing! We wrap up T8N Celebrates with a special outdoor showing of How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World in Millenium Park. Enjoy a special movie pre-show from 7:30 - 8:15 p.m. Movie starts at 8:30 p.m. and yes, food trucks will be on-site!
Digital Scavenger Hunt
Residents are also invited to visit the participating park locations listed above starting August 20 until September 5 to find hidden codewords to enter on the City website. Each correct codeword will enter participants into a draw for fantastic prizes provided by Arden Theatre, Best Western, Coca-Cola, Cranky's Bike Shop, Fusion World Rentals, IBI Group, ISL Engineering and Land Services, Servus Credit Union Place, St. Alberts Children’s Theatre, and Wilco Contractors NW.
As there is limited parking at some locations, visitors are encouraged to use active modes of transportation such as walking or biking.
