Celebrate poetry and cheer on St. Albert’s young poets at Amplify’s very first poetry slam! Warm up your snapping fingers and settle in for an evening of high-energy poetry performance that’s sure to vacillate from emotional to playful to honest to irreverent and back again. In this interactive event that platforms the power of words, audience members should be prepared to support their fave poets and boo those evil judges, cause as they say in slam: "the point is not the points, the point is the poetry."

Former Edmonton Poet Laureate, Titilope Sonuga will be delivering a headlining performance, as well as join the judging panel.

What: Amplify's first Poetry Slam!
When: Thursday, April 16 at 6:00 p.m. (Doors at 5:45 p.m., Slam will begin promptly at 6 p.m.)
Where:  Art Gallery of St. Albert (19 Perron Street) 
For: Young artists from Grade 7 to age 21. Supporters of all ages are welcome. 
Cost: FREE! But due to limited seating, an RSVP is required. Tickets will go "on sale" in March 20th at 10 AM.
