Registration for our visual art workshops opens on June 11, 2026 at 10 am.
Welcome to our list of workshops for this year's Artist Alley! Here you will find an assortment of visual art classes, specifically created to engage those who are either a) just starting out on their creative journey or b) want to try an art form or craft they've never tried before. That's all to say, our workshops will be beginner-friendly and focused on fun!
Date: July 4, 2026.
Cost: $12, including fees.
Location: All classes will take place in St. Albert Place, 5 St. Anne Street.
Age restriction: Our workshops are specifically for youth in Grade 7 to age 21.

Handbuilt Pottery Pencil Cup

Learn to make a hand-built pencil cup and paint it with bright colours in this clay workshop. Cups will be dried and fired at our Pottery Studio and be ready for pick-up from Art Gallery of St Albert approximately four weeks after class. All art supplies are included, and all skill levels are welcome! Please dress for a creative mess.
Hours: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Polymer Clay Charms

Create a tiny charm, a keychain, a pair of earrings or a pin in this oven-bake polymer clay workshop. We will have a variety of fasteners available and lots of polymer clay colours to work with. Projects will be oven-baked during the workshop. All art supplies are included, and all skill levels are welcome!
Hours: 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Location: St. Albert Place, Multi-Craft Studio.

Design & Block-Print Your Own Tote Bag

A re-useable bag, but make it fashion! Carve a block-printing stamp with the guidance of our instructor and enjoy decorating an individualized tote bag with a variety of stamps and coloured inks. All art supplies are included, and all skill levels are welcome! Please dress for a creative mess.
Hours: 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Register for Block-Printing workshop
Henna Art

Join Henna by Ashiyana for a fun and interactive henna workshop suitable for beginners and anyone interested in learning the art of henna. Participants will learn basic henna techniques, simple patterns, and design elements while following step-by-step instruction. Each attendee will practice on reusable henna workbooks provided during the session, making it easy to build confidence before applying designs. Henna cones and practice materials will be supplied for the workshop.
As part of the experience, participants will also have the opportunity to receive a beautiful henna design created by the instructor.
