DanceCo opened 22 years ago in St. Albert’s Inglewood Plaza and since then, they have grown from a two-studio facility with 100 dancers, to a large seven-studio facility with over 1,100 dancers. Their number one goal has always been to introduce their customers to the wonderful world of dance, in a warm and friendly environment where everyone feels welcome.

Movementality

Movementality is a Hip-Hop dance crew driven by Breaking, Locking, House and Popping. Their goal is to share the knowledge, history and dance moves from Hip-Hop and Funk Styles so that everyone can have a chance to experience the freedom of freestyle movement. Wowing the crowd at The Show in 2018, we had to bring Movementality back this year!

Ivy League

After Ivy League initially stumbled upon Edmonton's Drag Scene just over 3 years ago, she's become a staple in YEG drag. With titles like Miss Amateur 2016, Mz. ArtHaus 2017, Mz. Gay Edmonton 31, and Miss Evolution 5, you know that this glamourous trollop is going to give you life, henny! Eclectic, energetic, and ever-evolving, Ivy is sure to entertain!

Holding On Circus

The incredible acrobats in Holding On Circus have performed across Alberta for the past 13 years. Blending the athletic world of circus with the grace of rhythmic gymnastics, Holding On Circus is taking Amplify to new heights! They’ve bought their unique act to international events; including, the Festival Circuba and Seattle Moisture Festival, and chances are you’ve seen them at local festivals, corporate events and school workshops around the YEG.

The Line Up:

7:15 PM Cypress
8:00 PM Roman Clarke
9:00 PM Arlo Maverick

Bio's:

Cypress

Cypress is an Indie Pop band from Edmonton, Alberta. Pulling inspiration from Scenic Route to Alaska and the Arkells; Cypress fuses upbeat indie rock with folky melodies, invoking the feeling of cruising down the highway with your windows down. Cypress brings a unique energy to their live performances, delivering an experience that is equal parts lively and memorable. They released their first single this summer and they already have over 20,000 followers! And we are proud to say, a few of the members met for the first time at Amplify!

Roman Clarke

Roman Clarke rolls together gospel harmonies, modern R&B, and the charm of the 1970’s into a sound that’s simultaneously nostalgic and brand new! His particular shade of keyboard heavy, groove-based pop, burst with an optimistic energy that’s dreamy, thoughtful and immediately dance-worthy. Visiting Amplify all the way from Manitoba, we are excited to welcome this talented Canadian artist whose known online for playing all of the instruments in his popular YouTube videos. Smooth, stylish and soulful, Roman is gaining fans with every cross Canada tour – don’t miss him at Amplify!

Arlo Maverick

Arlo Maverick fuses jazz, electro and soul into a gritty sound that identifies itself as clever, quick and cunning hip-hop. With pulsating beats and flanked by an electric band, Arlo has showcased at Canadian Music Week, Breakout West and the Edmonton and Winnipeg Jazz Festivals. Writing from his personal experiences, Arlo Maverick connects with his fans one song at a time. Lyrically, Arlo’s music is a poetic narration of everyday life experiences. Be it songs about the innocence of falling in love, confronting one’s inner demons, or the struggles of making ends meet, Arlo Maverick’s music is as much about moving his audience physically as it is about moving them emotionally. An opener at Amplify in 2018, Arlo’s incredible performance left us no choice but to bring him back as our headliner this year!
