Bio's:

The Prototype
Generating a musical storm, The Prototype whip-up tunes that are both somber and electrifying. Under the name 5 Cents Richer, The Prototype mesmerized the crowd at Amplify 2016, winning The Show 3.0 thanks to their moody, yet mighty music. Featuring ethereal guitar solos, thunderous drumming and howling vocals, we are thrilled to have these St. Albert artists kick-off our Saturday night wrap-up concert.

Paul Woida
With nothing but a guitar and a loop pedal, Paul Woida can re-create (pretty much) any song. Using this simple set up, he’s gained an avid fan base eager to hear his innovative covers of pop-hits, as well as heartfelt originals. Often compared to Ed Sheeran or Jason Mraz, his unique live show highlights his incredible musicianship, love of catchy hooks and emotive vocals. He is a past winner of the Hot 107 $10,000 Hot Factor Competition and won the 2016 Airmiles Detour Big Break competition which brought him to Nova Scotia to open for Meghan Trainor. And, arguably most importantly, last year he helped Bellerose High School keep pedalling through the night at the 2016 Bellerose Bike-A-Thon. With an unstoppable passion for playing and desire to inspire his audience through music, Paul is the perfect ambassador for Amplify and we are excited to finally have him on our stage!

The Royal Foundry
First taking the Amplify Stage in 2015, The Royal Foundry are an irresistible indie-pop force. These darlings of the Edmonton music scene bring a torrent of electric gadgetry, blistering banjo solos and swells of audience-fueled handclaps to every performance. In 2015, they won $75,000 as part of the Peak Performance Project for their song “Running Away,” which peaked at No. 22 on alt-rock radio stations across Canada. With multiple singles in heavy rotation on Sonic 102.9, this August they released their brand-new album Lost In Your Head, featuring the hit “Never Have Time.” Heartfelt and uplifting, if you were at Amplify in 2015, you fell in love with The Royal Foundry. If you weren’t at Amplify in 2015, you need to come out this year and experience their infectious sound first hand!
