St. Albert Catholic High’s Dramatic Production: 2019

The Importance of Being Earnest is a comedic satire that watches our two young men of London, Algernon and Jack, try to please the women in their life by becoming Earnest!

Oscar Wilde’s play is skillfully written and openly cross-examines the norms of his time, Victorian England – which fittingly questions our contemporary inclinations also: social status, perceptions dominating realities, facade and the truth! ….but all of this is done in the realm of hilarity!

This is indeed Wilde’s ‘wisest and wittiest play’ as Dominic Dromgoole of London’s Sunday Times states: "You will laugh until you think!"
