About the Festival
Wonder and awe are essential to a passionate life – moments, big or small, that make us say “WHOA”! For 40 years, the International Children’s Festival of the Arts has transported kids to another world and provided them with countless awe-inspiring experiences. Through world-class programming in music, dance and theatre as well as literary, visual and circus arts, we awaken a child’s innate sense of wonder and excitement, as we help them to explore what’s possible. Kids don’t carry judgements of why things are so, but rather they sit in awe of the magic of life as viewed through a lens of innocence and curiosity.
After the unique year that has impacted the community so widely, the Children’s Festival will look different from previous years. This year’s festival will be virtual - we will bring the Festival to you! Please join us from April 28 to June 6, for some exciting, engaging, innovative and interactive, virtual programming!
A staple event in the Alberta Capital Region, the International Children’s Festival of the Arts remains one of the largest and longest-running of its kind in North America.

We would like to honour and acknowledge that we are on traditional land, within the Treaty 6 Territory, and the homeland of the Métis people in Alberta. We acknowledge all, recognized and unrecognized, who have cared for and who continue to steward this beautiful land.
