Hoopin' It Up with Hula Hoop Circus
Get ready to hoop it up!
Today is Day 16 of our #40DaysofPLAY and we are joined by Amanda from Hula Hoop Circus, an artist and performer you’ve likely seen around our festival site over the last number of years. Armed with a variety of tricks, using simple hula hoops, Amanda will lead you through a series of lessons that are great for all ages and ability levels.
All you need to participate is a hula hoop and some space in your living room or back yard.
The City of St. Albert has worked with content developers to provide creative prompts that align with provincial public health measures, and guidance to protect the health system and the community by slowing the spread of COVID-19.
Amanda Syryda is a pioneer of hoop dance within the Grande Prairie area and has been building her hoop dance career since 2009. She’s an entertainer, flow arts instructor, and now the author of a picture book Mandi the Clown and the Hula Hoop Circus. Also known as Amanda Panda, Panda, or the ever popular, Mandi the Clown creating multiple fun, colourful characters is what the Hula Hoop Circus is all about.
Don’t forget to take a picture of your participation in today’s activity and share it with us online!
