Day 24 of our #40DaysofPLAY also happens to be World Meditation Day. In honour of this national day, Joey from Community and Social Development will guide us through a series on meditation options that you can try out; Imagination, Body Scan, and Mindful Exploring.
In the first video, Joey askes the question ‘what is meditation’ and explains the idea in a kid-friendly way, while also teaching kids how it can help them with their feelings.
Then you can explore the videos that follow, where Joey introduces kids to three different meditations:
Imagination: Joey teaches kids about how using their imagination can help calm their bodies.
Body Scan: Joey teaches kids about how noticing what’s happening in our body can help us figure out how we are feeling.
Mindful Exploring: Joey teaches kids about being thoughtful in their everyday lives and how slowing things down, helps us notice the world around us more.
