Volunteer Standards

Volunteer Standards

In order to create the best Festival experience possible for everyone, we ask that all volunteers abide by our volunteer standards. They are simple but help make the Festival run smoothly and make your volunteer experience safe and fun!

All volunteer shifts fall between May 30, 2024 to June 2, 2024. We ask all volunteers to donate at least six hours of their time towards the Festival. We are happy to have you join us for longer! Volunteers are also required to attend the orientation(s) that match their roles.

We expect our volunteers to:

  • Attend the appropriate orientation for their volunteer role. Orientation information will be sent to you when you sign up!
  • Volunteer a minimum of six hours.
  • Wear Festival T-shirts and lanyards for the duration of all shifts.
  • Inform Volunteer Coordinators ASAP if they become unavailable for a shift. (When leaving a message, please include: volunteer name, area of responsibility and scheduled time).
  • Work in an atmosphere of mutual respect and support.
  • Be comfortable with assigned tasks.
  • Ask for assistance.
  • Refuse work which they feel is unsafe, without fear of reprisal.
  • Complete all paperwork, including waivers and Criminal Record Checks, if applicable.
  • Be on time for all assigned shifts.
  • Refrain from the use of cigarettes, alcohol, cannabis or illicit substances on-site.
  • Stay off phones while on shift.
  • Address any immediate concerns to their Team Leader or Captain.
  • Follow all public health measures.

Volunteers can expect Festival organizers to:

  • Work in an atmosphere of mutual respect and support.
  • Ensure that Volunteer Headquarters is a place where volunteers can relax and enjoy refreshments.
  • Be available to answer questions and/or help resolve challenging situations.
  • Recognize their hard work.
  • Take charge in the event of an emergency.
  • Dismiss volunteers who fail to adhere to Festival standards.
  • Provide safe practices and emergency procedure orientations.
  • Ensure the hospitality team provides lunch, snacks and refreshments.
  • Follow all public health measures.
