Description
Long before the invention of television, Middle Eastern storytellers would wander the streets and call children to listen to heroic stories illustrated by a portable box with peep holes: “A Wonder Box” (in Arabic: Sondouk Al- Aja'ib). Led by a Syrian storyteller, hear strange and marvellous tales using an ornately painted box with glass lenses that showcase beautiful picture scrolls that enhance and illuminate the story. Images created by Syrian and Canadian newcomer, artist Boushra Ghesen.
