Niniimi’iwe (she/he gives a dance)

Aboriginal School of Dance

Known for energetic and innovative choreography, Winnipeg’s Aboriginal School of Dance aims to foster empathy and understanding of Native American culture with their mystical performance, Niniimi’iwe. With vibrant regalia, this one-of-a-kind show features everything from an enormous butterfly to the re-enactment of a buffalo hunt. A powerful fusion of traditional and contemporary movements and music, dancers integrate samba, salsa and other sounds from around the world to create an unforgettable multicultural experience.

“As we dance together, we express the beautiful relationship between our traditions, Mother Earth, the music and ourselves. As the powerful energy rises, the audience is left fulfilled and emotional.”
– Aboriginal School of Dance
