Founders' Walk

Walk back in time

Founders’ Walk highlights St. Albert’s rich history and allows residents and visitors a chance to walk back in time.

Follow in the footsteps of our City founders walking from the clock tower to the Healing Garden to Father Lacombe Chapel and along to Grain Elevator Park. While following the walk you will learn about some of the rich culture and history that shaped our community and will be able to enjoy the sites and sounds at the heart of the City.

Developed in three phases

  • Phase I extends from the Clock Tower to the top of Mission Hill.
  • Phase II extends from the top of Mission Hill along St. Vital Avenue to the Grain Elevators on Meadowview Drive.
    • Do you like rhubarb? There is rhubarb growing wild on public land along Phase 2 of Founders’ Walk near the grain elevators. You are welcome to pick some for yourself, but if you do, please follow these guidelines: Rhubarb Picking Guidelines
  • Phase III will connect the Grain Elevator Park to the Perron Street bridge along existing trails on both the north and south banks of the Sturgeon River and is currently in the design process. Learn more on the Founders’ Walk Phase 3 Page.
