Our Vision for the Future

• We envision a future state in which we have repaired relations among Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples.
• We have increased awareness of our shared history, acknowledged difficult truths, and committed to fulfilling our mutual responsibilities as treaty people.
• We have made progress on addressing the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s (TRC) Calls to Action for Municipalities.
• We have developed authentic and trusting relationships with nearby First Nations, the St. Albert-Sturgeon County Métis Local 1904 and the Métis Nation of Alberta.
• We have collaboratively established a meaningful mechanism to provide Indigenous peoples with an ongoing voice directly to St. Albert City Council.
