Get Involved

There are essentially four ways to become involved with St. Albert Children’s Theatre:

Summer Drama Camps St. Albert Children’s Theatre began as a summer drama camp, and this element remains a very important part of the program. Each summer SACT offers a series of camps and workshops to children ages three to 19 years. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis with the camps occurring in late May or early June. Information about dates for summer drama camps is generally announced in January.

Winter Production

The winter production is SACT’s largest production of the year. A full roster of artistic and technical professionals work with about 40 young people (ages 8 to 19 years) to present a full-scale Broadway-style musical. The 2018 winter production was Tuck Everlasting and it ran November 22 – December 2, 2018.

Spring Production

SACT's 2019 spring production will be Honk! JR. and will be presented as a Feature Performance at the International Children’s Festival of the Arts [May 28 – June 2, 2019] which is held in St. Albert each spring. Presented amongst professional theatre acts from all over the world, the SACT production is always one of the first shows to sell out.

Volunteering St. Albert Children’s Theatre depends heavily on volunteer support from both youths (ages 14 and over) and adults. There are several ways to become a SACT volunteer:
  • Technical Volunteer
We require several people to work during the run of our winter production. Technical positions may include: stage management, running crew, follow-spot operator or wardrobe assistant.
  • Ushering
We require several Ushers at each performance.
  • Wardrobe/Set Construction
We are always looking for artistically inclined volunteers to work alongside our professional design team as seamstresses, set painters and prop builders.
