On March 23, 2020 Council approved a bylaw cancelling the April 1, 2020 and July 1, 2020 tax penalties for taxes in arrears.
Council also approved deferring the payment deadline for the 2020 taxes from June 30 to September 30, 2020. This will give all City property owners an additional 90 days to pay their taxes.
Property owners enrolled for pre-authorized monthly taxation instalments who are not able to pay their May tax instalment in full must notify Assessment and Taxation by email email@example.com:
- By May 11, 2020 at the latest for property owners that pay on the 15th of the month.
- By May 19, 2020 at the latest for property owners that pay at the end of the month.
Unless listed on the facility closures or listed above, all City services are still available for access by phone, email or online.
The City of St. Albert strives to provide accurate and equitable assessments that are used for collecting taxes. The Assessment Department calculates the assessment according to provincial legislation and guidelines.
You can now view property assessments, trace levy and legal property descriptions as well as locate these properties on a map by visiting Property Search. Tax notices are mailed in May and must be paid prior to June 30 to avoid late payment penalties.
