The City of St. Albert strives to provide accurate and equitable assessments that are used for collecting taxes. The Assessment Department calculates the assessment according to provincial legislation and guidelines.

You can now view property assessments, trace levy and legal property descriptions as well as locate these properties on a map by visiting Property Search. Tax notices are mailed in May and must be paid prior to June 30 to avoid late payment penalties.

Alberta Land Titles Processing Delays & Impact on property Assessment and Taxation Notices 

Alberta Land Titles is reporting a three-month delay in processing land title transfers. In cases where a property has recently been sold, this may result in new owners not receiving their combined Assessment and Taxation Notice mailed on May 29. If you did not receive your Property Assessment and Taxation Notice as a result of these delays, you can still find your 2022 assessment amount (for the 2023 tax year) by searching for your property on the City’s interactive assessment maps.  


  • If you have questions regarding the tax amount of a property, please contact taxation at 780-459-1516 or Assessment inquiries may be made at 780-459-1603. 
  • When speaking with an assessor or tax representative, you may be asked to provide additional information to verify your ownership of your property if the title transfer has not been completed by Alberta Land Titles. 

NOTE: The deadline for payment of taxes remains June 30, 2023.
