Sleigh Your Holiday Break with Day Camps at Servus Place!

With the holiday break quickly approaching, it might be time to figure out what to do with your busy little elves while they’re out of school!

The stars aligned this year for the recreation staff at Servus Credit Union Place, as they were able to program almost two full weeks of camps that are sure to keep kids active, having fun and avoiding telling you they’re “bored”.

“We don’t always run camps over the holidays depending on how the stat holidays fall, but this year we have the perfect calendar to maximize our fun and enjoy all the activities that Servus Place has to offer,” says Recreation Programming Supervisor, Wendy Byer.

Half-day preschool camps for 3-5-year-olds and full-day camps for 6-9 and 9-12-year-olds are available from December 20 to 23 and December 27 to 31.

Preschool camps will take place in the PLAYcare room which is filled with tons of toys and active play opportunities. Campers will also travel to different parts of the facility, including the gym courts and leisure ice where they can skate or just play some games as they slip and slide.

The Active Elves camps leading up to Christmas will focus on gearing up for the holidays as campers will play festive games and get busy in the kitchen making magical cookies for someone special in red (and can’t forget some grub for his reindeer). There may even be a surprise guest appearance from someone jolly at the end of the week too!

Camps after the holidays will be all about burning off that post-Christmas energy! Kids will TAKEOVER Servus Place as they play games in the fieldhouse, go crazy in the gym courts, splash around in the pool (6-12 year olds), cook in the kitchen and skate in circles on the leisure ice. “Parents can expect their kids to make friends, be active and have a great time playing”, explains Byer. “And kids can expect to get messy, sweaty and have fun doing all the super cool activities that their camp leaders have planned for them.”

If your kids are a bit older, there is a Leaders in Training (LIT) program available on Monday, December 20 for 13-17 year-olds wanting to enhance their leadership skills while also joining in on the camp fun.

Spots for all the holiday break programs are filling fast! Click here for more information and to register your busy little elf this holiday season. Pre-care is available from 8-9 a.m. for all camps, and from 4-5 p.m. for full-day camps.

The Restrictions Exemption Program is in effect at all City recreation and culture facilities. Youth under 18 participating in a recreation activity do not need to provide documentation; however, parents signing their children in and out of camps will need to comply with the REP. Questions?
