Commemorative Recognition Program Details
Commemorate a life within our park system
Learn more about the commemorative recognition program.
- Commemorative bench and plaque (applies to existing benches only).
- Commemorative tree and plaque.
The fee for either option is $1,750, and it is a GST exempt, one-time program fee. It is eligible for the issue of a tax receipt, and there are no ongoing fees.
NOTE: Only City-installed recognition items will be allowed in the parks. Please refrain from placing additional items such as flowers and personal items at a commemorative site
In keeping with the City of St. Albert’s park and open space maintenance requirements and landscape design standards, the availability of commemorative bench options is limited to existing benches only.
New bench locations will become available as benches are installed with new projects. The standard plaque is a horizontal bronze plate that is affixed to the backrest of the designated bench.
This option may consist of a new or existing stand-alone ornamental tree situated within parkland. Trees planted on-road right-of-way boulevards or within existing tree stands are not available options. The standard plaque for the tree option is also a horizontal bronze plate that is mounted on an upright pedestal placed at the border of the existing tree well.
Holding a location is not permitted for any commemorative bench or tree location. All program requests will be addressed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
