TD Clean and Green RiverFest

The TD Clean and Green RiverFest is an annual event intended to increase wildlife habitat along the Sturgeon River by collecting litter before it enters the river and planting native tree and shrub species to expand the existing forested areas. It's an opportunity for individuals, groups and families of all ages to learn how everyone can impact the environment in a positive way. The event also features an Environment Fair with a variety of non-profit organizations and businesses interested in sustaining the environment. These exhibitors provide opportunities for event participants to grow their knowledge about all things environment with their interactive booths.

This year's TD Clean and Green RiverFest was held on May 13, 2017 from 2-5pm and saw more than 170 residents brave the rain and cold to participate. Huge thanks to everyone for picking up a total of 270 kg of litter and for planting 265 trees along the Sturgeon River. We hope you enjoyed the features of this year's event including: local band Alberta Rose, a Kid's Passport Contest, a participant barbeque, and so much more!
