Riel Recreation Park

An outstanding multipurpose venue

Athletes and fans from across the Capital Region are attracted to Riel Recreation Park for its outstanding multipurpose artificial field, as well as rugby and soccer facilities. Many visit the park to make use of the upgraded 92-stall RV campground, banquet facility and rodeo grounds, the latter of which draws thousands to the area each year with the Rainmaker Rodeo.

Boat Dock and BLESS Shelter at Rotary Park

Rotary Park

Located within the Riel Recreation Park is Rotary Park. It's a popular spot along the Red Willow Trail System for people to enjoy family time together in nature.

  • Concrete picnic tables with fire stoves for public use.
  • Big Lake Environmental Support Society (BLESS) Shelter with covered seating space. Learn more about BLESS
  • Boat Dock - Find it on the northwest side of the BLESS Shelter by following the natural walking path that leads to the river. The boat dock is available for use from May until October (river depth and weather dependent). It will be removed at the end of each season to coincide with the winterization of seasonal facilities.

Please note that during fire bans, there will be no firewood available for pick up at the park.

How do I get there?

Access Riel Recreation Park from Riel Drive and turn onto Rodeo Drive. Adjacent to the parking lot at the end of Rodeo Drive is Rotary Park.
