About the Park
For years, families have been coming to Lions Park to share birthdays, anniversaries, events, and intimate family time in a quaint and peaceful park setting. Nestled in towering trees and right on the Red Willow Trail System, the time spent here will create memories you can cherish forever!
Book the picnic shelter online for your visit from May 1 to October 13, 2025. Bookings will be accepted in the order they’re submitted, starting March 15, 2025. Check availability prior to completing the form.
Amenities
- Easy access to the Red Willow Trail System, which includes 99.5 km of recreational trails that connect to St. Albert parks and playgrounds.
- Large playground.
- Large picnic shelter that can be booked online for special events from May 1 to October 13, 2025. Check availability here!

- Over 10 BBQ pits with picnic tables.

- Washroom facilities (closed until further notice).
Alcohol in Designated Park Spaces
Lions Park is one of 4 designated park spaces that permits alcohol consumption between the hours of 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. and only in designated areas as indicated in on-site signage. Public alcohol consumption is also not permitted during Events as defined in the Parks Bylaw 07/2022.
Please remember when using the park:
- All dogs must be on-leash.
- Pick up after your pet.
- Natural areas may contain hazardous conditions, so use at your own risk.
- Leave no trace and stay on established trails.
- Leave trees (both living and non-living) in place.
Sturgeon River Ice Safety
The City of St. Albert cautions everyone to stay off the Sturgeon River in the winter. The river ice surface is unpredictable and not safe for any type of recreational activity. Learn more ice safety
How do I get there?
The park is located just off Sir Winston Churchill Ave (A on the map). The parking lot is adjacent to the park (B on the map).
