Lions Park Large Picnic Shelter

Family Fun in The Sun

Lions Park is one of St. Albert's oldest and most popular destinations for families looking for outdoor fun in the sun. With individual and group picnic sites, festival areas, playground facilities, large greenspace and public washrooms, Lions Park is the perfect place to play on a sunny day!

How do I get there?

Lions Park is located approximately across from the Fire Station #1 on Sir Winston Churchill Avenue. Public parking is available downtown behind the St. Albert Curling Club.

Lions Park Quick List:

  • Ample Parking
  • Two Picnic Shelters
  • Picnic Tables
  • Campfire Rings/Pits
  • Playground
  • Social Ice Skating Surface
  • Washrooms
  • Outdoor Fitness Equipment

Can I reserve a Picnic Shelter?

Lions Park has a large picnic shelter located in the north part of the park (furthest from Sir Winston Churchill Ave) that is available for reservation.

You may call or email to make reservations beginning on March 15, 2017 for requests from May 1 - October 9.

The large shelter is suitable for 50 - 60 people (7 tables) and there is no charge to book. You may bring your own Barbeque to this spot as there is no barbeque pit attached directly to this picnic shelter site and there is an electrical outlet for this site.

There is also a smaller covered shelter attached to the washrooms, however it is not available for reservation. There are a number of sites throughout the park - each with it's own picnic table and barbeque pit - they are all first come, first served.

The Bookings and Events Office is open Monday – Friday (excluding holidays) 8:00 am-5:00 pm
