Remarketing

What is remarketing?

The City of St. Albert sometimes conducts online advertising campaigns on third-party websites that are enhanced by targeting visitors to areas of the City website. To enable these interest-based (or remarketing) efforts, the City assists its ad-network partners in placing their cookies on visitors' systems. This allows City advertising partners to place City messages in front of web users who have shown an interest in the City of St. Albert through their visits to the City's website. The City is currently partnering with the ad-networks Google and Facebook.

The sole use of these "advertising cookies" is for the purpose stated above. City advertising partners do not link the information in the cookies — or any other cookie — to any personal information that you have provided.

How to Opt-Out of Remarketing

You may elect to refuse cookies within your browser settings. Conduct an internet search to learn how to manage, disable or delete cookies for your particular browser; or refer to the Help instructions in your browser to learn more about cookies and how to manage their use.

As an alternative to preventing your browser from accepting cookies as mentioned above, you can opt-out of interest-based (or "remarketing") advertising networks by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative's Consumer Opt-Out service.
