What's Happening

Ted Barris is an award-winning journalist, author and broadcaster. His writing regularly appears in the national press on CBC, CTV and NPR. Among now 22 published nonfiction books are his bestselling accounts of the D-Day landings; the liberation of the Netherlands; the secret raid on the River Ruhr dams; the Great Escape; and the Battle of the Atlantic.

Recognition for Barris includes: Minister of Veterans’ Affairs Commendation (2011); Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee Medal (2012); Libris Nonfiction Book of the Year Award in Canada (2014); long-listed for the Charles Taylor Prize for Nonfiction in Canada (2022); and last year Rideau Hall announced Barris has been appointed Member of the Order of Canada.
