GEN7Path Presents A Tribute Concert Honouring Samuel Bird: The Little Boy on the Moon

St. Albert, AB — GEN7Path and a circle of Indigenous artists will gather on November 1, 2025, at the Arden Theatre in St. Albert for a special charity healing concert to honour the memory of Samuel Bird and support the Bird/Potts family.

At the heart of this movement is the song “Break the Chain,” performed by Michelle Joly, YNG Bear, and GEN7Path. The song was written as a message of healing and hope, urging listeners to break cycles of pain, addiction, and intergenerational trauma — and to choose love, connection, and resilience.

“Break the Chain is more than a song — it’s a medicine prayer,” says Laurie Shaw-Greyeyes, founder of GEN7Path. “It speaks to every family who has endured loss, every mother who prays for her children to come home, and every young person who is searching for their place in this world. Through music, we find healing together.”

This Tribute Concert Honouring Samuel Bird will feature multiple Indigenous artists, each bringing their voice, ceremony, and song to help uplift the family and community. The event is part of GEN7Path’s ongoing commitment to Truth and Reconciliation, Indigenous healing, and awareness for MMIWG2S+ families.

Media and radio outlets are encouraged to share “Break the Chain” with their listeners to support this healing journey and raise awareness ahead of the concert.
