What's Happening
The City of St. Albert is in the process of updating the Off-Site Levy Bylaw, which will be presented to Council on March 15, 2021. Part of the process is to consult with interested parties on the calculation of the levy.
An off-site levy is a funding mechanism, authorized through the Municipal Government Act and enacted through a municipal bylaw, that will support the construction of major infrastructure that benefit lands being developed. It only comes into action if there is a subdivision application or development permit application.
This virtual information session will feature a brief presentation on off-site levies, followed by a question-and-answer period. Engineering Services will be accepting written submissions, from those in attendance, for further information or questions until March 5, 2021.
Information on the City’s Off-Site Levy Bylaw can be found on the Off-Site Levies page and on the Bylaws page (scroll down to Off-site Levy Bylaw 30/2013 for current bylaw and annual update reports).
