Over his 15-year stand‑up career, he has appeared multiple times at Just For Laughs in Montreal and Toronto, with sets airing on CBC TV and CBC Gem. Meet the Comedians!

Yumi Nagashima
Blending cultural insight with playful elegance and bold timing, Yumi captivates audiences around the world. Her work has been featured at Just For Laughs Montreal, Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Halifax Comedy Festival, CBC Gem’s New Wave of Stand-Up and Comedy Central Asia. Her viral comedy clips across social media and YouTube continue to reach a rapidly growing global audience.
Chris Gordon
In his first year of comedy, Chris was selected as the “#1 Pick in the Country” on CBC’s So You Think You’re Funny? From breakout performances at the Just For Laughs Festivals in Montreal and Toronto, to being featured in the Toronto showcase of NBC’s Last Comic Standing and performing at The Comedy Death Ray Show in Los Angeles, his appeal is undeniable.
Ola Dada
A Nigerian-born comedian who recently placed second in the Seattle International Comedy Competition, Ola gained national attention through the SiriusXM Top Comic Competition, appeared on CBC’s The New Wave of Standup and was a semi-finalist on Canada’s Got Talent. Ola draws on his life experiences for material exploring the contrasts in values and perspectives on life, religion and relationships.
Katie Yoner
Katie Yoner is a stand-up comic and improviser based in Edmonton. She was a finalist in Corus Entertainment’s $10,000 Funniest Canadian Contest, took second place at Yuk Yuks’ Standup Stand-off and was featured at Santa Monica’s Bergamot Comedy Fest. Katie is also a mainstage improviser with Rapid Fire Theatre and Grindstone, and tours her award-winning comedy show, Rat Academy. Her jokes have been described as energetic and off-putting, and are sure to leave you giggling.
Leif Oleson-Cormack
With his playfully subversive voice and dark sense of humour, Leif Oleson-Cormack is redefining the boundaries of queer comedy in Canada. A Juilliard-trained playwright and former video game writer, Leif crafts wildly confessional stories that find the absurdity in the deeply personal. His solo show, The Disney Delusion, toured to sold-out houses across Canada, the US and the UK and was nominated for the Just for Laughs Award for Outstanding English Comedy at the Montreal Fringe. Leif has performed at dozens of festivals worldwide. His debut comedy album, Alone Ranger, was recently released by Counterfeit Sounds.
Tesh Ayten
An up-and-coming stand-up comedian from Edmonton, Tesh was recently a finalist in CBC’s Top 100 Next-Up Comedians. Tesh’s comedy reflects his ability to see both sides of every issue—both of which are usually wrong. Shaped by his Ethiopian heritage, his jokes are infused with a unique Canadian perspective and a natural ability to connect with strangers.
