Snow Removal for Priority 2 Sidewalks
Request #
IR-26-21
I am requesting clarification regarding the criteria used to determine snow removal for Priority 2 Sidewalks adjacent to residential or commercial properties. Specifically, how are these priorities established, and what factors are considered in their designation?
Additionally, I would like to understand why two specific neighbourhoods are explicitly identified within the Snow and Ice Control Policy (C-IS-01). What is the rationale for distinguishing these areas, and how do they differ from other neighbourhoods under the policy?
Finally, I am seeking information on whether there is potential for a policy adjustment whereby snow clearing responsibilities for sidewalks adjacent to residential or commercial properties are assigned to the property occupier rather than being managed by the City. In this context, what potential cost savings, if any, could the City of St. Albert realize through such a change in service delivery?
